This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your information when you use the Services. By using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy.   • Personal Information: Name, email address, phone number, and organization affiliation (e.g., school, nonprofit) when you register, create events, or volunteer through the App or Website.

  • Usage Data: Data on interactions with the Services, such as event creation, volunteer sign-ups, feature use (e.g., automated permission slips), or Website browsing activity.

  • Device Information: IP address, device type, operating system, and unique identifiers to optimize performance of the App and Website.

  • Children’s Information: For users under 13 (e.g., student volunteers), we obtain verifiable parental consent per the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA).

  • Provide and enhance the Services, like matching volunteers with opportunities and coordinating events.

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the Services. By accessing or using the Services, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Services.

1. Acceptance of Terms

These Terms are a legal agreement between you and Good People. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Services. If under 18, you must have parental or guardian consent, and your parent or guardian must agree to these Terms on your behalf.

2. Use of the Services

Good People is a tool, and each community chooses how to use it. Good People Project LLC is not involved in the organization, execution, or management of actual events. You may use the Services to:

  • Create, join, or manage volunteer events.

  • Connect with schools, nonprofits, or businesses for community projects.

  • Use features like automated permission slips, event scheduling, or volunteer hour tracking.

You agree to use the Services only for lawful purposes and in compliance with these Terms.

3. User Conduct

You agree not to:

  • Post or share content on the App or Website that is unlawful, harmful, defamatory, or offensive.

  • Use the Services to harass, discriminate, or harm others.

  • Attempt to access or disrupt the Services’ systems, servers, or data.

  • Misrepresent your identity or affiliation.

4. Event and Volunteer Responsibilities

Good People provides a platform for users to organize and participate in events. As a user:

  • Event Organizers: You are solely responsible for the safety, legality, and compliance of events, including obtaining permits, insurance, or consents (e.g., parental permission for minors).

  • Volunteers: You participate at your own risk and must follow organizer instructions and laws.

  • Volunteer Hour Tracking: The Services allow tracking and storing of volunteer hours for purposes like resume building, college admissions, or reporting. Good People does not police or check volunteer numbers for validity. Good People runs on the honor system, and you are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and truthfulness of any reported hours. Good People Project LLC is not liable for any inaccuracies, misrepresentations, or consequences arising from reported volunteer hours.

  • Good People Project LLC does not organize, sponsor, or manage events and is not liable for incidents, injuries, or damages arising from events facilitated through the Services.

5. Intellectual Property

The Services, including their logo, design, and content, are owned by Good People Project LLC and protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute any part of the Services without our permission. By posting content (e.g., event descriptions), you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute it within the Services.

6. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law:

  • Good People is a tool, and each community chooses how to use it. Good People Project LLC is not involved in actual events and is not liable for any losses, damages, injuries, or claims arising from your use of the Services or participation in events.

  • We are not responsible for the actions, content, or conduct of users or third parties (e.g., event organizers, volunteers), including the accuracy of volunteer hour data.

  • The Services are provided “as is” without warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose.

7. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Good People Project LLC, its affiliates, and employees from any claims, damages, or costs (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Services, violation of these Terms, participation in events, or inaccurate reporting of volunteer hours.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Services for violating these Terms. You may delete your account via the App or Website settings. Upon termination, your right to use the Services ends, but legal provisions (e.g., liability, indemnification) remain in effect.

9. Governing Law and Dispute Resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of Georgia. Disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration in Atlanta, Georgia, under the rules of the American Arbitration Association, except where prohibited by law. You waive the right to participate in class action lawsuits.

10. Changes to These Terms
